Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is an additional funding grant given to schools so that we can raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities to reach their potential.

The PPG per-pupil rate for 2024 to 2025 is as follows:

Pupils in year groups reception to year 6 recorded as Ever 6 free school meals (FSM) £1,480
Pupils in years 7 to 11 recorded as Ever 6 FSM £1,050
Looked-after children (LAC) defined in the Children Act 1989 as one who is in the care of, or provided with accommodation by, an English local authority (some local authorities 'top-slice' some of this funding £2,570
Children who have ceased to be looked after by a local authority in England and Wales because of adoption, a special guardianship order, or child arrangements order (previously known as a residence order) £2,570

Pupil eligibility

The recovery premium will be allocated using the same data as the pupil premium. This means the following pupils will attract recovery premium funding to schools:

  • pupils who are eligible for free school meals (FSM)
  • pupils who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years
  • children looked after by local authorities and referred to as looked-after children (LAC)
  • post looked-after children (post-LAC)

Funding allocations

As we are a special school, we will receive £290 for each eligible pupil from reception up to year 6 and £552 for each eligible pupil from year 7 up to year 11.
